Rutabaga Joy

This photo was the turning point for me – the point at which I was truly drawn into the lives of my ancestors. I wanted to know about their lives. I wanted to know them. I had been interested in genealogy for a long while, but this photo – can you see the joy? I love Elizabeth Keath Moore’s face. I love the hair that looks like mine when I’ve been working outdoors. I love everything about this photo. I want to know more.

Rutabagas

Eber seems less than thrilled about the rutabagas. To be fair though, Eber is the only child present in photos with his mother Elizabeth when work like this has been done. Elizabeth (nee Keath) Moore 1844-1922 is my great-great-grandmother. Heartfelt thanks to Holly Sorensen for posting this photo years ago to the Moore MyFamily site.
